People penetrate in painting in various ways. Unknown ways are good for that too: two years ago, on a trifling occasion, Serhey Zavarrzin for the first time in his life took paint brushes and paints in his hands. And from this time the concoction of oil-paint dough became the obsession.

Absolute lack of professional training, complete lack of art education and masterly possession of material the artist of these paintings used in his favor: his picturesque aesthetics is deprived of artistic canons, and his views are not full of tradition although we can see connection with the masters of the past.

First acquaintance with his paintings could put the audience in perplexity: clearly defined chromatic imbalance, lack of compositional thinking and colorful space of canvas that split into separate pieces, storyline nonsense, but artist emphasizes these paintings are standard for him, his own vision of the world. He considers himself an absolute realist and perceives the life of ordinary man as fragmentary which consists of difficulties and troubles. The artist of these paintings would like to make the life warmer, a little bit cleaner and friendly because of his abilities. Herewith he uses an easy sense of humor, where self-irony and where a frank joke.

His paintings for those who feel not very comfortable in this world. For those who are interrupted the fussy glimpse with a short pause to look around.

Someone may seem such approach as a dead end. It’s possible. The artist of these paintings does not deny such possibility. It’s possible, quite possible. He doesn’t know how to be cunning that’s why he offers two solutions: to spit and forget or after some time to look again. Maybe call up again somewhere.
